Dick Barnes: Bio

I was born and raised in northern New Jersey in a home where my family attended a nondenominational community church. Upon graduation from high school, I attended West Virginia Wesleyan College where I met my wife Paula in October of our freshman year. In 1976, I graduated with a BS in economics and Paula with a BS in nursing. After graduation, Paula and I were married and resided in New Jersey.
Paula and I were blessed with our first child, Ken in 1979; our second child Rob in 1982; and our third child Laura in 1984.
Paula and I became members of Lakeland First Church of the Nazarene, Denville, NJ in 1977 and worshipped there until we relocated to South Carolina in 1991. We then transferred our membership to the Fort Mill Church of the Nazarene and served there until 1998 when we, with several other church families, were called to start a new Nazarene church in the town of Rock Hill, SC. Paula and I served as board members and I served as minister of music until 2005. We are currently members of the Pineville Church of the Nazarene in Pineville, NC.
Our son Ken graduated from Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville, Tennessee in 2002, is married and living in Little Rock, Arkansas; Rob graduated from Trevecca in December 2003, is married and living in Rock Hill, South Carolina and Laura graduated from Trevecca in May 2006, is married and living in Sumter, South Carolina. We are blessed at this time with five grandsons and one granddaughter.
